Georgia marble, being very dense, requires a variety of tools with which to carve. I use a hammer and various chisels, Bouchard for emphasis, a pointer, power tools such as a grinder with discs with a variety of grades of grit, and silicone carbide paper. I wear a face mask, goggles, ear protectors, insulated gloves to diminish the vibrations from the powerful tools which I use, a leather apron which I bought in Germany, and steel tip boots. I still, occasionally, get hit by sharp shards of marble. It's all worth it to be able to create as I feel.
