After Dawn has read a book about this famous dog of Ft Collins, Co. she decided to sculpt her. She made acquaintence of a very old woman in Ft Collins who had been raised in the original house (her dad's) where the ONLY picture of "Annie" was taken in about l934 and could describe this mutt of a dog to Dawn over the phone! Dawn fell in love with this great dog who was adopted by the local railroad men and kept at the Ft Collins RR Depot for 14 years during the depression and thru WWII (this dog greeted all the men who came back from the war and many tears were shed!) 'Annie' was buried right by the Depot and that grave, along with a concrete marker, has been declared a part of the national history registry! The old lady mentioned above described how the dog looked and what kind of a personality she had and the rest IS history...now this dog and her bronze image is in SEVERAL books which can be found on Google if desired. There are ONLY 3 left in the original Lifesize edition of 15! Dawn Weimer Studios will also give you a paperback book with your purchase which describes this dog even further and Dawn also did all the illustrations in this book!
