I believe Architecture has become rigid and monotonous. The world is zooming past us and the groundscape is growing faster and taller. We don't appreciate the inbetween spaces anymore. Just as how we are constantly losing small moments/memories in our everyday lives as we rush towards the unknown, we don't stop and stare at the world around us anymore. We will only be able to appreciate the 'full' when parts of it have been empty. The city has become so beautifully robotic, that the positive spaces would never 'stand out' if it weren't for those small negative spaces that holds the most interesting moments to be found. With this work I try to show the overgrowth and monstrous cityscape versus those small empty spaces combined to multiple times its size. This is to show a contrast of life today and have the viewer question their place in today's world? And if possible, push them to look at the world a little differently tomorrow and discover these spaces and memories.
