This is an original stone carving. It was carved out of a solid block of stone. The strings on the end are actual strings. This contemporary sculpture is another part of my "Realism In Stone" collection, which features iconic items from American pop culture. The grooves in the gloves give the representational sculpture a textured look that makes it look soft and bendable even though it is made out of solid stone. This stone sculpture is one that people often grab for, as they want to double check to see if it's an actual pair of boxing gloves.
