Road Rocket Nike 2006 Edition of 8 Cast Concrete 28 X 25 X 10 2nd in the Nike series the road rocket takes the svelte lines and contours from the elaborate 59 Cadillac and reduces them to one rocket like form. This work was modeled in automotive clay just like at the big three and then molded. It has been cast in Concrete with metal fins and mounted to a cast concrete base. The colors are for the most part cast into the piece with a slight patination in concrete stains. Only 8 will be made . You can work with Tj on a custom tertiary color and aggregate combination. One piece has also been cast in Bronze The Artwork: The Nike series is about finding cultural antiquities. The Nike statues from Rome exist in pieces and bits are exhibited in museums all over the world. Warhol said they would find soup cans when they dig up 20th century artifacts. Tj says they'll find car parts. The winged Nike series reconstruct parts of classics into a single sculpture. This one depicts the entry into the space age.
