DETROIT: Sculpture show at Pewabic
Glazed porcelain sculptures by William DePauw -- and one piece made of stoneware and wood -- are being featured at Pewabic Pottery. "William studied at Wayne State University, Northern Michigan University and Tulane University in New Orleans, where he now teaches," says Tara Robinson, a Pewabic curator. "He does sculpture that is based on objects he creates, and he creates molds from these objects and uses the forms in a variety of ways that make the final piece an abstraction." All the works are for sale. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Through March 7. 10125 E. Jefferson, Detroit. 313-822-0954 or www.pewabic.org. |
