The Freedom Angel Foundation based in Roxbury, CT. will introduce The Freedom Angel sculpture at the Danbury Fair Mall on Monday, Memorial Day, May 30, 2011. The Freedom Angel will be on view until June 12, 2011 to raise awareness of the many challenges facing our retuning veterans.

The Freedom Angel is a seven-foot clay sculpture which the Foundation passionately believes will become a new national symbol representing recognition of the sacrifices which our men and women in uniform have so generously made on our behalf. Visitors to the Mall will have the unique opportunity to observe American Sculptor Sterett-Gittings Kelsey at work as she refines and finishes the Angel's details.

"The Freedom Angel celebrates America and the Men and Women who protect her" said Board Member and Roxbury First Selectman Barbara Henry. "She gives those of us who stand on the sidelines, the opportunity to play a small GGthank you, gratefully showing our appreciation for their sacrifices and providing assistance for the many challenges they face."

The Freedom Angel, an original sculpture created by Roxbury Resident, Sterett-Gittings Kelsey, was commissioned by the Foundation to promote the Foundation's mission. Kelsey is one of America's premiere sculptors whose bronze masterworks can be found in more than 300 public and private collections, here and abroad. When finished, the clay sculpture will be cast in bronze by the Polich Tallix Foundry in Newburgh, New York. Plans for the Freedom Angel's multi-city tour to promote the Foundations mission are in the works. On behalf of the Freedom Angel, they invite you to join them in their heartfelt endeavor.

Spatial Thoughts on Sculpture by Bill West
What a career Sterett-Gittings Kelsey has. She is a master of theh female figure. Her sculptures of the dance are exemplary. A wonderful and caring tribute to our Veterans by all involved!
