Sculpt Across America

I see it every time I teach a sculpture class and watch a student discover the joy of working in clay. I experience it anew each time I begin a sculpture myself. A Figurative Art Movement is sweeping the nation and with your support, I propose to put that idea on the ground bringing the Joy of Sculpting to people's hometowns across the good 'ol USA!

In "Sculpt Across America", I would drive cross country from Los Angeles to Washington D.C. and back, stopping in 20 cities where I would teach sculpture classes for a weekend and/or a week long workshops in Portrait, Torso, figure and Relief Sculpting. I would document my travels and the class experience on a blog, complete with video and photos, empowering people to explore their creativity and get practice in changing their own reality. This is a huge opportunity for press of all kinds. It is the story of a regular person celebrating creativity from coast to coast in a time where the economy has made our lives stale and confined and I want to show them how to bust out some clay and escape into a world of creativity.

Since I would be spending most of the time in the heartland of the America, "Sculpt Across America" will take the idea of creativity to where people actually live, not just the cosmopolitan cities on the coasts, creating a sense of universal empowerment and the Sculpture Culture of America. The response to this concept from art centers and communities has been phenomenal. The e-mails are flying in. An avid use of Facebook and Twitter, with 7,500 people on my fan & friends pages, I am already in touch with people all over the country. With you as a sponsor, this grassroots outreach would grow and the results are sure to be electrifying.

In a time of economic hardship, American Creativity is more important than ever. "Sculpt Across America would celebrate that spirit as I take a 10,000 mile Road Trip across our country, encouraging people to step up and step out of their comfort zones, to take responsibility for changing their lives and the way we live.

What I need is your support financially and if possible thru gathering media support as well. With financial support for Model costs, Food, Gas $$, Hotels, clay & materials etc. It will greatly help in reducing workshop fee's making it more affordable for the students. Full or partial sponsorship is greatly appreciated and encouraged. I included a list of costs below breaking down all of the trips' finances.
