Hastings Leader by Marty Shevelove Sculptor thrilled with biggest winA SPEECHLESS Louise Paramor won the $100,000 McClelland Sculpture Prize on Sunday at the Langwarrin Art Gallery. Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, 102, presented the cheque to the Melbourne artist, who beat a highly competitive field of 33 for the biennial award. The Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Foundation is a co-sponsor of the award - Australia's richest sculpture prize - with the Balnaves Foundation. Neil Balnaves announced Paramor's Top Shelf the 2010 winner before a large crowd enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine. "I feel like I am in a dream and it is a good one," Paramor said. "It's thrilling." |
