ABC News AustrailiaSculpture 'whispers in the wind'A kinetic sculpture that moves and whispers in the wind has been unveiled as Canberra's latest public art installation. Situated at Belconnen Art Centre, it is designed to reflect the reeds that fringe the lake's foreshore. The piece - 'Dancers on a Lakefront' - is designed by Australian artist Konstantin Dimopoulos, who also has works displayed in Melbourne and Auckland. Dimopoulos' wife Adele was at the unveiling on behalf of her husband who is in Nashville, Tennessee, on a six-week tour of the United States. Chief Minister Jon Stanhope said 'Dancers on a Lakefront' was a striking addition to the Belconnen Arts Centre and complemented its location on the shore. Costing $165,000 .. it is the eighth major public art installation provided by the Stanhope Government. |
