Ken Rowe Sculpture

SEDONA, ARIZONA (May 20, 2010) -- Wildlife sculptor and Sedona resident Ken Rowe will unveil his latest bronze masterpiece at his Tlaquepaque gallery, Rowe Fine Art Gallery, on June 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. during the Sedona Gallery Association's 1st Friday Gallery Tour. Ken will also be at the gallery on Saturday, June 5, from 1 to 6 p.m., to meet with art lovers and work on-site.

"For the past few months, I've been focused on opening the gallery and highlighting the artists who we represent, but now I'm anxious to get back to my own work," Ken says. "This will be the first piece I debut in our new gallery space, which makes it even more special."

Born and raised in Arizona, Ken's life was forged by the rugged beauty, culture and history that surrounded him. His first introduction to wildlife art was in the field of taxidermy. Ken and his wife, Monica, owned a successful taxidermy studio for 14 years during which time Ken dedicated himself to the study of the anatomy and physiology of wildlife.

In 1987, Ken began sculpting in bronze; he has enjoyed a career as a full-time artist for the past 15 years. Ken's sculptures are known for their detail, composition and life-like depiction of bears, mountain lions, elk, javelina, moose, snow leopards and other animals. The scale of his work ranges from small maquettes to large monuments. Ken and Monica opened Rowe Fine Art, their first gallery, in March 2010.

Rowe Fine Art Gallery represents traditional and contemporary southwestern painters and sculptors. The gallery, located upstairs in Patio de las Campanas near the bell tower at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 928-282-8877 or visit www.rowegallery.com.
