Joy Beckner Sculpture

One-quarter life-sized ~ 10 1/2" x 7"D x 5"H ~ Bronze, Ed. 50 & 5 Artist's Proofs ©2011
Life-sized by Commission

When Taylor Herrick first told me what he had in mind for this piece, I was excited because I saw the possibility for a beautiful sculpture. I am grateful for the generous help of longtime champion Golden breeder, Elaine Brent and was able to model this relaxed position directly in wax, in 1:4 Scale, based on her girl, Peaches, while retaining the look of Taylor's Madison. Elaine helped me from pictures I emailed to her. I have yet to see a picture of Peaches. Merry Sunshine is sized to perfectly fit on a desk, windowsill, tabletop, or wherever it may please you. Merry Sunshine was first seen in the 2011 American Women Artists show at Huff Harrington Fine Art, Atlanta, GA. Each is made by hand in Colorado, USA . Each is signed, numbered and includes my mark, JKB. Enjoy!

Spatial Thoughts on Sculpture by Bill West
Joy Beckner sent us this new piece titled "Merry Sunshine" a bronze sculpture of a Golden Retriever. As usual Joy has created an outstanding sculpture. It is so real, yet so relaxed, tight(real) in design, but not too tight allowing for Joy to perform her magical interpretation. All I can further add, is that I can't wait for her next one!
