Guy Bellaver sculpture 'Prairie Song.Q' on display at Merchandise Mart for Art Chicago
St. Charles, IL -- Sculptor Guy Bellaver of St. Charles is exhibiting "Prairie Song.Q" at the Merchandise Mart, in an exhibit partnership with Chicago Sculpture International. In the suburbs, his work is currently featured in "Sculpture in the Park" on display through Oct. 10 at Mt. St. Mary's Park off Route 31, St. Charles.
In Chicago, his work is outside the Merchandise Mart, along Orleans Street, for Art Chicago, running from Friday through Monday, April 29 to May 2. The exhibit, a partnership between the Mart and Chicago Sculpture International, features 23 monumental sculptures. In addition, Bellaver will be part of the Chicago Sculpture International Booth No. 167 at Art Chicago inside the Mart. His piece, "Lissome.Q Study," is part of CSI's "6 to the third" exhibit and sale.

The show is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 1; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 2.
About Guy Bellaver
He is a sculptor whose works span media, including stone, wood, metal and mixed media. His monumental works include major public art and liturgical projects in Geneva, Elgin and St. Charles, Latrobe, Pa., and Boston, Mass. His sculptures are in such locations as the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science in Sioux Falls, S.D., H.J. Heinz Corporation's International Headquarters, Pittsburgh, and St. Vincent College, Latrobe, Pa., among others. His work is in private collections around the country.
After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Bellaver earned a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Vincent College. He has worked as a sculptor full time since 1975, taking master's credit classes in art at Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, and NIU, as well as The School of the Museum of Art in Chicago. He is a member of CSI and ISC, and sits on the boards of the St. Charles Visitors and Cultural Commission and the St. Charles Arts Council. Bellaver is a past president of the St. Charles Rotary Club and Foundation, and chairman of the DSCP's Public Art Committee.
