New Sculpture For Immediate Release

Sculpture Rises and Blows in the Wind

Metal Sculptor Greg Londrigan, known for his hand fabricated abstract sculptures, which usually feature flowing organic forms and movement captured in time, has introduced a new sculpture entitled "U-Wind". Standing just over 9' tall the pure white metal piece seems to resemble a flame with an orange metal ribbon blowing in the wind, which appears to be caught on one of the outreaching tips.

"The idea for this sculpture came from a sketch I made a couple years ago. I have been working on a series of sculptures that are all white with a splash of color. The ribbon blowing in the wind was added to create a natural element to this piece."

"U-Wind" is made from hand-fabricated sheet metal and was constructed in Greg's studio, which is located in Grand Blanc, MI. "The Ribbon was the most challenging element of this sculpture. Because it had to be painted separately, getting it to wrap around and still be able to take it off wasn't easy." Greg says. "I had to make a whole separate "tip" to bend it around. In the end it turned out great."

"U-Wind" along many others of his works are on display at Water Street Gallery in Douglas, MI. (269) 857-8485
