Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park |
Six Million Visitors and still growing strong! GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN - Graham and Grace Clark of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., were honoured as the six millionth visitors Friday to Michigan's Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. The Clarks got a one-year membership and tickets to an Aug. 7 anniversary concert featuring Lyle Lovett and his Large Band in the Meijer Amphitheater. Attendance has spiked with the opening of a five-month-long exhibition of glass artist Dale Chihuly's sculptures. Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids held its grand opening April 20, 1995, and it took four years to hit one million visitors. More than 17,000 people have visited Meijer Gardens since the April 30 opening of the Chihuly exhibition, which runs until Sept. 30. |
A wonderful experience - one must take this Sculpture Park in at least once in their life, if not many times! Go this summer for the Dale Chihuly glass sculptures, besides, it's summertime in Michigan! |
