Ekaterinburg Art Foundation Call for Sculptors


Call for Sculptors, Designers, Architects. The Second Russian National Creative Contest "Russian Urban Environment. New Vision" - <<.... .......... ..... ......>>.


Russian nationals living abroad and foreign artists world-wide are welcome to take part in The Second Russian National Creative Contest "Russian Urban Environment. New Vision" - <<.... .......... ..... ......>>.

The Contest is being held by The Ekaterinburg Art Foundation (Russia) under the guidance of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The Second Contest is devoted to the modern development of Russian cities and places, actual problems and its prospects and has been implemented from February 1, 2011. Main topics: houses; entertainment and working places of citizens of Russia; urban environment; spiritual and cultural life; memory. Who can participate: architects, sculptors, designers, developers, investors and art students. All participants can take part in one of two sections: professional or youth. People's and honorary architects/artists of the USSR and Russia present their works out-of-competition. The topic of the contest has found a broad response from two hundred and twenty five architects and sculptors from fifty five regions of the Russian Federation and eight foreign countries as of September 2011. The Contest "Russian Urban Environment. New Vision" is supported by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation; The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation; The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation; The Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences; The Russian Academy of Arts; The Russian Academy of Sciences; Union of Architects of Russia. Partner of the Contest is the State Hermitage Museum.

Co-chairmen of the Contest are: Juri Gnedovsky - Honorary president of the Unions of Architects of Russia; Zurab Tsereteli - President of the Russian Academy of Arts; Alexander Chubaryan - Director of the World History Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In spring 2012 there will be a meeting of the jury. Architectural designs will be evaluated according to the submitted tablets with graphic material and models of architectural works. Sculptural works will be evaluated by three-dimensional sketch models. The jury will determine the nominees for the awards and form the final exposition. The final exhibition of works will be held in "Manege" Central Exhibition Hall (Moscow, Russia) in June 2012. All projects will be considered for realization in Russian cities. Laureates will get money awards and special prizes from all state and professional structures supporting the Contest.
