New Sculpture Centre opens June 2012
Call for studio applications

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop's new Sculpture Centre is due to open in June 2012, and will be the first purpose-built open access sculpture facility in the UK.

The Sculpture Centre facilities will be open to anyone wishing to come and produce work, as a member or non member, just by phoning to book a working space. Facilities will include:

  • Six days a week, open access working
  • Two production spaces which can be hired by the table or by the space
  • Fully equipped Metal and Wood Workshops
  • Mixed Media Workshop with kiln suitable for glass, clay and ceramics
  • Dedicated Project Space
  • Technical support 6 days a week
  • Research Space suitable for drop-in working, meetings and members' projects/exhibitions
  • Meeting spaces available to hire
  • IT Suite with Mac facilities
  • 26 Studios
  • Membership scheme
  • Funded artists opportunities
  • Reduced accommodation rental for artists available through ESW's National User Scheme
  • Two apartments to enable international exchanges
  • Applications are now invited for studios in the new Sculpture Centre:
    Deadline: 31st January 2012

    Monthly Studio Rental Rates
    (Maximum lease length is 5 years)
    Single studio: £136
    Shared studio £96
    Graduate studio: £76 (gradually increasing to £96 after 3 years)
    Two studios will be available for recent graduates (up to 3 years after graduating from college/university).
    Studio floor area: 16m sq. (approx.)
    Although single studios are available, applications for a shared studio will be looked on favourably.
    Studios are expected to be available from 1st June 2012, although this date may shift if there are delays with the construction.
