David G. Derrick Jr. has worked for years as an artist in the animation industry primarily at DreamWorks Feature Animation. David has now entered the fine art world with 5 exciting new bronzes. His latest bronzes are the direct product of a lengthy visit to Kenya. Amboseli Tusker was sculpted from life while David observed wild elephants roaming beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. Mara King was also Sculpted in Africa after David encounter a large male lion in The Maasai Mara reserve. Mother and Child Reunion, Tiger Yawn and Mediation are three sculptures which were inspired by David's sketches and experiences in nature. A new book full of David's sculptures and sketches has just been printed entitled "African Diaries."
