Carol Fleming Sculpture


A pair of 400 pounds (plus 200 lbs gravel) 4 feet tall Acorns were installed at Backstopper's Park for the client, City of Oakland, near Big Bend and Hwy 44. The photo of the artist was published in the Saint Louis Post Dispatch, as a "happening!" said the photographer, James Forbes. (see quote below) www.carolfleming.com 10/11/10 Monday Oakland, Mo. Artist Carol Fleming, 50, from Ladue, puts the finishing touches on a ceramic acorn she had just installed next to Grant's Trail on Holmes Avenue in Oakland Monday afternoon. The City of Oakland commissioned her to put an acorn at either end of their little park. The acorns are bolted down and weigh almost 500 pounds. Fleming had the help of her installer Glen Steiner. Fleming is always accompanied by her dog, Isadora. Fleming owns Studio Terra Nova.
