Carl Wright Sculpture |
Skokie, IL -- October 2010 through October 2013 Carl Wright has installed the sculpture Aria at the nationally renowned Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park. Aria is installed between Howard & Touhy Avenue & McCormick Blvd. in downtown Skokie. Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park is a 2 mile long park filled with 66 sculptures by 64 sculptors intended for pedestrians, cyclists, runners, etc. It is a comfortable and convenient way to see top ranked sculptors work in a natural setting. The sculptures sited on berms & surrounded by paths that circle each sculpture to maximize viewing. About Aria Aria is my interpretation of an opera singer poised to start singing thunderously to the back of the theater. It captures that moment of dead quiet & aloneness on stage before the singer starts her aria. Other sculptors with installed sculpture at NSP include: Ted Gall, Barbara Goldsmith, Sheila Oettinger, Stacy Latt Savage & Samuel Spiczka. |
Carl Wright, no doubt a talented sculptor, but is also quite diverse in his offerings. From abstracts (predestal-sized), to monumental-sized pieces, to functional sculpture, all nicely done. |
