This week the Italien artist Bettino Francini worked in the Netherlands for the project 'Dorpsgezichten'(Village Faces) organised by Foundation Nature Art Drenthe. Francini realized the work 'Contemporano, cross-beams'. It is a wooden structure inspired by the construction method used at old farmhouses in the region (province Drenthe). 'Cross-Beams' is build from oak beams 25 x 26 cm. The beams are connected by steel rods and rope. High about 5.5 mtrs. The artwork is number 11 in Dorpsgezichten. It started in 2009 with 7 sculptures and was on that moment visited by the Dutch queen, Beatrix. The project runs till 2012 when ther will be in total 17 artworks in 8 different small villages belonging to the city of Coevorden. The project is managed by Adri A.C. de Fluiter. He is founder of the foundation.
