by Judith Copeland

I carved Woman by hand using mallet and chisels. I sanded it with power tools but down to 600 grit, which I rubbed by hand..Then I oiled it repeatedly with Danish Watco oil. It has a beautiful natural colored shine to it. The base of the black olive tree was brought to me from Miami after Hurricane Andrew. This hard piece of wood took me two long years to complete. It has been shown in two solo shows and numerous galleries and won a Best of Show at a St. Petersburg , FL Museum juried show in 2001.
