Infinity/ʎʇıuıɟuI (Double Mobius Strip) Installation at the Blue Bridge, Grand Rapids, MI, USA 21 x 6 x 5 ft. stainless steel, mirrors, 8000 lbs. email: plamenart@hotmail.comDescription of work: The work is 16 x 5 x 4 ft. brushed stained steel sculpture from the series "Double Mobius Strip", 2002 - 2017, which consists of pieces, fabricated with different materials: corten steel, stainless steel, combination of copper and bronze, leaded stained glass. All of them are large scale, up to 20 ft. tall. Work statement: Infinity/ʎʇıuıɟuI refers to several distinct concepts, linked to the idea of "without end" which arise in philosophy, mathematics, and theology. The sculpture is based on the Ms strip, which is a surface with only one side and only one boundary component. In this work I combine two Mobius strips together with common edges. The result is one "double" rich and fascinating 3D form, representing the idea of continuance and endlessness of life.
