BETWEEN ADVENTURE AND SCULPTURE

Installed in Londe-les-Maures (FRANCE) after many travels, Patrick MONTALTO begins to sculpt at forty with the passion and strength that have always characterized this talented jack-of-all.

All his sculptures, vibrant with realism and sensuality, tell a story drawn from the great dreamlike richness of their creator and connect, directly, to the most sensitive themes of our collective memory.

He explores all the themes that have made him aware, mythology, religion, eroticism and others that sometimes only correspond to raw, unfiltered emotions, meaning only their strength and their sincerity.

Clay was born Man, material living among all, malleable, magical, but so fragile, drying out with time and gradually becoming dust again.

To answer his dream of immortality, he chose to transform his ephemeral clay works into eternal bronze.

After a long and complex alchemy (molding, making of wax, installation of vents, pouring of refractory plaster, casting of lost wax, pouring of molten bronze, passage to acid, chiseling and finally hot patina with oxides ... ), Patrick MONTALTO gives, by the proof of fire, a new life to his sculptures. They will thus free themselves, daughters of her overflowing impulses, from her mortal condition.

For him the true magic moment occurs without his knowledge: abruptly the inert matter that he manipulates becomes alive and the sculpture will be able to continue his destiny without him ...
