Sculptor and Art Educator, Mike Hansel, has been actively producing contemporary artwork for over 30 years. Living most of his life in New England, he currently resides in Newport, RI where he teaches visual art and chairs the art department at St. George’s School. His large-scale metal sculpture resides in many private collections, and he has installed numerous large-scale public sculptures in museum venues and college campus sites across the country. Mike Hansel’s work has become known for his ability to create highly crafted, organic sculpture that contradict what is expected from rigid, industrial materials such as steel, bronze or aluminum.
